Spring clean your skin

With spring weather quickly approaching, it’s time to face that dreaded annual activity: spring cleaning your skin, follow theses steps:

  • Tip 1: Get a facial-it a good way to thorough clean the pores, soften and remove dry dead skin cells and will restore a radiant glow.

  • 2: Exfoliate -we've all had heavy creams to moisture our faces all winter long, but it’s time to get the excess out of your pores.

  • 3.Going from winter to spring, ur skin is a lot drier due to the lack of moisture. Treat yourself to a light peel or microdermabrasion,

  • 4. Spring clean your product cupboard, by tossing all the expired products and replace them with what you need, ask you therapist for advices

  • 5: Its time to abandon the heavy moisturizer and maybe even your gel cleanser, and switch to something lighter for the spring.

  • 6.Protect -It might be tempting to bask in the glow of the sun but it's crucial to protect yourself from the sun’s damaging rays

  • 7.Your skin craves good nutrition just like the rest of your body, so a good cleansing routine is important

  • 9. Eat lots of fruits, vegetables, lean protein, and whole grains for healthy skin.

  • 10. Exercise every day. Exercising helps your skin by increasing blood flow. And sweating flushes out dirt from your skin.

  • 11. Stay out of the sun. Get a fake tan if you want more color.

  • 14. Give your face a little more TLC - with home made masks -http://bodytiquetherapistthruths.blogspot.com/

  • 15. Don’t neglect your body during the transition as well - Enjoy a much needed mani and pedi at your salon.

  • 16. Don't forget to exfoliate the body to with a body scrub to make you feel like a whole new woman and get your skin glowing.

  • 17. Rehydrate your body skin by soaking in a warm bath of water to 2 tbsp of milk powder. Its the ultimate skin softener

    Identifying your skin type

    Identifying your skin type

Knowing what skin type you are can be confusing and frustrating when trying to get a good skin care routine going. There are five basic skin types, namely :

    • Oily/ problem skin
    •
    • Dry / Sensitive skin

    • Combination skin
    •
    • Normal skin

    • environmentally damaged skin
But which one are you ? Well here are some tips to help you analysis your skin into a type. The first step in pinning down your skin type is to get hold of a magnifying mirror to see whats really happening with your skin. Now brace yourself, because in most cases, this is not a pretty sight. A magnifying mirror highlights every blackhead, whitehead, pimple, crater and wrinkle. But if its any consolation, most peoples skins don’t pass the magnifying mirror test with flying colours.
There's a simple test to help you narrow down your skin type. The tissue test ,check on the glandular activity of your skin. As complicated as that sounds, its actually a simple procedure that just requires a paper tissue.
    1. Press the paper tissue to your nose and forehead for a few seconds. Do not rub it over the surface of your skin.
    2. .   Then remove the tissue and examine it.

    • If your glands are working overtime, the tissue will have greasy marks on it. (oily /problem skin)

    2.   If the tissue is spotless, don’t get too excited. Its not a good sign. It means that your skin lacks

    • lubrication. (dry /sensitive skin)
    • If the tissue is hardly soiled, you are one of the lucky ones with perfect skin.(normal skin)

    3.   Here a basic break down of each skin type:

    • oily skin - Skin shines easily and looks dull. Might have a few pimples

    4.   Problem skin - Open pores and lots of pimples

    •  and normally your skin looks angry
    • Dry skin- Feel tight and very dry and reacts to temperature changes

    5.   Sensitive skin- Easily becomes red and irritated.

    •  Reacts to just about anything
    • Normal skin -smooth perfect skin ,that everyone strives to achive.

    6.   Environmentally damaged skin- skin that has premature aging (wrinkles ,fine lines  etc) and pigmentation

    7.   Combination skin- Can be a combination of any of the above skin types. For example oily/dry skin is a skin that can have a oily forehead/nose/chin (t-panel) and the cheeks are dry.

    8.   Each skin type is treated in a different way with different products ,and that why its so important to know your skin type and how to treat it . Thus one can control and improve there skin and appearances.
