Cinnamon – cinnamomum zeylanicum blume

Plant part: bark, leaf and root

The bark and leaves of the plant that are the most used. Cinnamon bark has a sweet,warm and spicy aroma and is used the most. Cinnamon leaf oil is used in perfumes and flavour, due to its harsh odour.

Cinnamon is a a perfect remedy for winter as it helps – poor circulation, colds,coughs,fevers and help energises

Properties:
Anaesthetic,antiseptic,antispasmodic,
aphrodisiac,cardiac,carminative,
emmenagogue,haemostatic,insecticide,
stimulant,stomachic,vermiuge,antimicrobial,
enhances digestion and absorption
Body fighter
A hot cup of sweet and exquisitely aromatic cinnamon tea is a great way to stimulate the circulation and cause sweating. Thus helps to resolve fevers, flu and infections. The tea below also helps to ward off arthrits and gout.

Cinnamon and apple tea
4 apples
600ml water
2tsp honey
1tsp grounded cinnamon

cook apples till they are soft, by placing them in a pan and adding the water. Strain and stir in the honey and cinnamon
